Tristan read the indecision in her gaze and decided to back off. Sure, he could kiss her again and convince her to go to bed with him right now, but he always did that. Maybe he could try something different for once. Maybe he could try to resist her. He’d come to the cabin to figure out how to change his ways, so why not start with her?

Besides, the night was young. If they did end up in bed together, a little teasing would go a long way toward making the sex even better. See, he had self-control. He had it in spades. He could totally resist her. As long as she kept that shirt on.

“You know what’s missing?” he asked as he returned to the fish.

“No, what?” she asked with a frown. Of disappointment?

“A Christmas tree. If we’re going to celebrate Christmas, then we’ll need a tree.” When her eyes lit up, he continued. “Let’s go get one.”

“Right now?”

“Sure. We can go out in bear form. It’s cold, but there are so many trees out there, we should be able to find one rather quickly.”

“Okay.”

He quickly rinsed the fish and tossed them into a Ziploc bag with lemon pepper seasoning. They’d be fine on the counter for a few minutes while they went out to get a tree.

As he turned around, she unbuttoned the last button on her shirt. His mouth went dry. Tousled chestnut hair tumbled over her shoulders to graze the tops of her breasts. He pulled off his shirt and tossed it over a chair. As he reached for his belt buckle, she sucked in a sharp breath. He looked up to find her staring. If she wanted a show, he’d give her one.

Still shirtless, he walked over to his laptop and clicked on a music file. A slow, sexy song about licking someone up and down filled the room.

“What are you—”
